Canasta: There are several Canasta groups that meet throughout the month. We have tables for both beginners and experienced players for this fun and interesting card game. We meet at a local restaurant – play cards – and have some lunch. Canasta is offered on the second Wednesday of the month and also the first and last Friday.
Hand, Knee, Foot: This is another form of Canasta that is a lot of fun to play. If you have played Canasta before you may want to learn to play this version. We have tables for both experienced and new players. Members enjoy playing and having lunch together! This group meets on the first Thursday of the month and the last Wednesday.
Beginning, Beyond Beginners Bridge and Intermediate Bridge: If you have never played bridge before you may want to try our Beginning Bridge group. This game takes a while to learn but it is a game with a great deal of strategy built into it. Our intermediate and experienced players enjoy a challenging game at a local restaurant and have lunch together. This is offered on the first and third Monday of the month (Beyond Beginners) and the last Friday of the month (Intermediate). Instructional bridge for beginners is offered at various times of the year depending on the number of interested members.
Dine and Drama: A great way to meet new friends while catching up on a current movie and trying different restaurants. This enjoyable group meets on the last Monday of the month to have lunch and then see a movie.
MahJongg: Meeting weekly on Tuesday, with tables for experienced players as well as beginner to intermediate level. This can become a not to be missed activity. If you have never played this challenging game and would like to learn we have an instructor available to teach you.
Day Trippers: Day Trippers meets once a month at different times to explore places in the Atlanta area. It’s a great way to see the local sites, have lunch and get acquainted with new friends.
Rummy-Q: Many of us grew up playing this fun game. It is very easy to learn. The group meets monthly on the first Monday of the month to enjoy this game and have lunch.
Daytime Book Club: This group enjoys reading and discussing books selected by members. It meets on the last Thursday morning of the month at member’s homes.
Saturday Evening Social: Designed for singles, members and their spouses or significant others to enjoy a fun evening and get acquainted by meeting in members’ homes once a month. Each guest brings a “heavy appetizer” and their choice of beverage. The socials are held on the 1st Saturday of the month.
Saturday Night Out: This group meets on the 3rd Saturday of the month at a different restaurant chosen by the leader of the group. It’s for couples and singles to enjoy dining together. What a fabulous way to discover and learn about the many local restaurants our area has to offer.
Southern Living Cooking: What a perfect group for those who love to cook and try new dishes! This group meets monthly on the second Friday in different members’ homes. Each participant makes and brings a dish assigned by the hostess from the current issue of Southern Living. The members share a delicious meal that they all helped prepare,
Theater Group: Members sign up to attend plays at the Fox Theater several times during the year. After the play, the group dines at a nearby restaurant. Every other year there is a trip to New York to enjoy a Broadway show.
Tennis: Experienced players meet every Tuesday at a local tennis court.
